Add a listing
Find a business on Google Maps, add it to a project, and know what adding it reads and what it costs.
A listing is one Google Business Profile in DigitPeak. You add it by searching Google Maps for the business and picking it from the results. DigitPeak then reads the profile from Google and opens setup.
#Before you begin
- You need a project. If you do not have one, see Create a project below.
- You need the Owner or Editor role on the project. A Viewer sees "You have view-only access to this project" instead of the search. See People and roles.
#Create a project
- Click Maps in the rail.
- Open the project menu at the top of the sidebar and choose New project. If you have no projects yet, click Create your first project.
- Type a Project name.
- Optionally type the business's website in Website URL (optional).
- Click Add project.
- Go back to Maps and pick the new project from the menu at the top of the sidebar.
#Find and add the business
- Open Dashboard.
- With no listings yet, the search sits on the page under Find your business on Google.
- With listings already, click Add new location. On the list pages of Listing Management, Review Management, GBP Optimization, GBP Tasks, Orion AI Agent, Local Schema Builder and Map Rank Tracker, the Add campaign button at the top opens the same search.
- Type the name and the city in Business name and city. A name alone can match a business anywhere in the country.
- Pick the Country.
- Click Search.
- Find the business in the results and click Add to project.
Each result shows the name, the category, the address, the rating and review count, and the phone and website if Google has them. Unclaimed means nobody has claimed the profile on Google.
A result already in the project shows In this project instead of the button.
#Advanced search
Click Advanced search to add a Street address, a ZIP or postcode, or a Phone number. A postcode or a phone number usually finds the exact listing on the first try.
If Google Maps returns nothing, try the name as it appears on the sign, with the city.
#What happens when you add a listing
The search closes and the Dashboard shows Adding the business. Then the setup wizard opens.
The listing arrives with its Google profile (name, categories, address, phone, website, hours, price band, rating and review count) and a first GBP score on the Dashboard.
#What it costs
Adding a listing costs:
- 9 credits for reading the profile.
- 4 credits for each search you ran in this project since the last listing was added.
Both are taken from the new listing's monthly allowance, which starts at 1,500.
For example, three searches and then Add to project costs 3 × 4 + 9 = 21 credits.
Searches that never end in a listing being added are not charged. They still count towards the search limit below.
The add shows up in your Query log as one Listing added row. See Credits.
#Limits
#Ten searches a month per project
A project can run 10 searches of Google Maps a month to find businesses.
- Adding a listing sets the count back to 10.
- Otherwise, the count resets at the start of the next calendar month.
- Running exactly the same search again (same words and country) within 7 days does not count towards the 10, but it is still charged 4 credits if you then add a listing.
When the 10 are used, the search says "10 searches used. Adding a listing gives you ten more, or they reset next month."
If ten searches have not found the business, check the country and the spelling, and try a postcode or phone number in Advanced search.
Searches in Rank Checker are separate. They do not count towards the 10.
#Other limits
- A project holds up to 50 listings.
- An account holds up to 100 listings across all the projects it owns. A teammate adding a listing to your project uses your count.
- The same Google listing can be in a project only once.
#Remove a listing
Only the project Owner can remove a listing.
- Open Dashboard.
- On the listing's card, click the gear, then Settings.
- Under Delete, click Delete listing.
- Confirm.
Removing takes the listing out of DigitPeak with everything kept about it: the map campaign and its schedule and scans, reviews and reply drafts, the agent's knowledge and posts, audit keywords and score history, its website and its reports. The listing on Google is untouched.
#Cancel straight after adding
On the first screen of setup, straight after adding, Cancel asks whether to cancel adding the business. Confirming removes the listing. This works for the project Owner. For anyone else, Cancel only closes setup and the listing stays.
Costs credits: removing a listing does not return its credits. Adding it again does not refill the month, and is charged again.
