Performance
See how many people viewed a Google listing, called, asked for directions and visited the website, and which searches found it.
Performance shows what people did with a listing on Google: how often it was seen, and how many called, asked for directions or opened the website. It is on the Performance tab of GBP Optimization, and a short version sits on the listing's own dashboard. Nothing on this page costs credits.
#Before you begin
- The listing must be connected to its Google Business Profile. A listing that is not connected shows no Performance tab and no figures.
#Choose the dates
- Open GBP Optimization and click the listing.
- Click the Performance tab.
- Pick a period: Last 28 days, Last 90 days, Last 6 months or Last 12 months. To pick your own dates, choose Custom, then click the first day and the last day in the calendar.
- Pick what to compare it with, or No comparison.
A figure with nothing behind it shows —, never 0.
#What it shows
| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Views | Times the listing appeared on Google Search and Google Maps, on desktop and on mobile. Search views and Maps views each have a chart. |
| Website clicks | Times someone opened the website from the listing. |
| Directions | Times someone asked for directions. |
| Calls | Times someone tapped to call. |
| Messages | Times someone tapped to message the business. |
Each figure shows its change since the comparison period. The interactions chart switches between Total and each kind. Calls by day of the week shows which days people call.
#Search terms
Search terms lists what people searched before they found the listing, for the month the period reaches. A term that few people used shows as Under 15, not as a number. A term that is also one of the listing's tracked keywords is marked Tracked. Click Search term or Searches to sort; click again to reverse.
#On the listing's dashboard
The Performance card shows Views, Calls, Directions and Website clicks for the last 28 days, each with its change. View details opens this tab.
#In reports
A report for a connected listing takes Customer calls, Direction requests, Profile views, Website visits, Chat clicks, Bookings and Menu from Google. You do not type them, and they do not change once they are in the report. For a listing that is not connected, you type them in the report.
For a report that covers one calendar month, a Top search terms section can list that month's searches. It has its own switch. See Reports.
