AI Replies
Set how DigitPeak drafts replies to your Google reviews: when it drafts, the tone, the language, keywords, sign-off, emoji and greeting.
DigitPeak drafts a reply to every new four- and five-star review a listing gets, in the tone and language you choose. The drafts wait in Review Management for you to read, copy and post on Google.
#Before you begin
You need a listing in DigitPeak and the Owner or Editor role on its project. See Add a listing and People and roles.
The same settings appear in two places: the AI Replies step of the setup wizard, and the Auto Review Draft panel in Review Management. A change in either place changes the other.
#Turn automatic drafting on or off
- Open Review Management and click the listing.
- In the Auto Review Draft panel, click the switch next to Reply to new reviews of four stars and up.
When you switch it on:
- DigitPeak drafts a reply for each four- or five-star review that has no reply and no draft yet, including reviews that were already waiting.
- After that, each time new reviews are read, DigitPeak drafts replies for the new four- and five-star ones.
- In Review Management, the reply settings open, so you can see what it will write.
Reviews of three stars or fewer are left for you. See Reviews DigitPeak does not draft.
To switch it off, click the switch again. A dialog asks Turn off Auto Review Draft? and offers a box for what could be better. Click Disable to turn it off, or Not now to keep it on. Drafts already written are kept.
You can draft a reply to a single review with Draft a reply whether the switch is on or off.
#Change the reply settings
- In the Auto Review Draft panel, click Set up.
- Change any setting. Each change saves as you make it.
- Read the replies under What it writes to check the result.
- Click Done.
The line next to the switch sums up the current settings, for example the tone, the language and how many keywords are set.
Changing the tone, language, keywords, sign-off, emoji, greeting or your own lines throws away every draft nobody has edited. If the switch is on, DigitPeak writes new drafts straight away. Drafts you edited, and replies already on Google or marked as replied, are never touched.
#Tone
Pick one of five tones:
| Tone | What it sounds like |
|---|---|
| Friendly | Warm, the way a small business owner writes. Thanks people properly and sounds pleased to hear from them. |
| Professional | Respectful and correct, with polite address and no exclamation marks. Suits clinics, professional practices and anywhere the tone should be careful. |
| Energetic | Short and lively. Suits cafés, studios and places people visit for fun. |
| Calm | Plain and clean. No exclamation marks and nothing over-familiar. Safe for any business. |
| Personal | Written as one person ("I"), not as a company. Put your name in Sign-off. |
#Custom
If none of the five fit, click Custom in the tone row. It asks three questions, and each answer changes the replies straight away:
- Do you write as a team or as one person? We or I. I selects Personal.
- How do you talk to customers? Casually (Energetic), Warmly (Friendly), Plainly (Calm) or Formally (Professional).
- Emoji? No or Sometimes.
Then click Edit the lines to change the wording itself. The lines are grouped by Five stars and Four stars, and within each by Openings, Middles and Closings. Edit a line, remove it with the × button, or type in Add another… to add one.
You can use {who}, {name}, {business} and {service} in a line. {name} is the reviewer's first name, {who} is the name with its greeting title where the language uses one, {business} is the listing's name and {service} is one of your keywords. Anything in [square brackets] disappears when what is inside it is empty, so Thank you[, {who}]! still reads correctly when there is no name.
Each group holds up to 12 lines, and each line up to 240 characters. Click Save to keep your lines. Lines also save when you close the dialog. Back to default returns to the tone's own lines; it asks Discard my lines? first, and Keep them cancels.
Keywords only appear through closing lines that contain {service}. If you rewrite the closings, keep at least one with {service} in it.
Your lines belong to one language. The editor shows the lines of the language you chose, or on Same as the review, of the language for reviews with no words, and names it above the lines. A reply uses your lines only when it is written in that language; replies in other languages keep the tone's own lines. Back to default clears only that language's lines.
#Language
Choose one of two ways:
- Choose a language: every reply is written in the language you pick, whatever language the review is in.
- Same as the review: each reply is written in the language of the review. Then pick the language for reviews with no words. A review that is five stars and nothing else has no language to match.
When a review is too short to tell its language, or is in a language DigitPeak does not write, the reply uses the language you picked for reviews with no words.
Replies can be written in 11 languages: English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese.
#Keywords
Add the phrases you want your replies to mention, such as what your business does and where. Type a keyword and press Enter. Remove one with its × button.
- There is no limit on how many you add. Each can be up to 60 characters.
- Each reply to a longer review carries one keyword. Replies to short reviews, of six words or fewer, carry none.
- Keywords are used in turn. Every keyword appears once before any appears again, and with two or more keywords the same one is never used twice in a row.
- When the review itself mentions a keyword that is still waiting its turn, that one is used first.
Under the box, From your campaign: offers the keywords your Map Rank Tracker campaign tracks. Click one to add it. The two lists stay separate: adding a keyword here costs nothing and starts no scan.
#Sign-off
Text added under every reply, exactly as you write it, for example "Warm regards" and your business name on the next line. It is never translated or changed. Up to 120 characters and four lines.
#Emoji
- None: no emoji.
- One, sometimes: one emoji at the end of each five-star reply. Four-star replies never get one.
#Greet by name
- Yes: the reply opens with the reviewer's first name.
- No: no name.
The name is skipped when it does not look like a person's name: for example "A Google User", a name with numbers or a link in it, a name in capitals, or a very long one. In Indonesian the name comes with a polite title, such as "Kak Budi".
#What it writes
The right side of the dialog shows replies written with the current settings to up to three of the listing's own unanswered four- and five-star reviews: the longest, the shortest and one in between. If the listing has no such reviews, it answers two example reviews and says so. Click Refresh to write them again. Nothing here is saved as a draft.
#Read sample replies
The Reply Drafts tab in Review Management writes replies for no review in particular, so you can read or send a batch to a client before any reply goes near the listing.
- Choose how many: 5 replies, 10 replies, 20 replies or 50 replies.
- Choose Five-star replies, Four-star replies or A mix of both (two five-star to each four-star).
- Click Draft them.
- Click Copy all or Export CSV to take them with you.
Nothing on this tab is posted or attached to a review.
