GBP Tasks

Work through a few tasks at a time that keep a Google Business Profile active and fix what GBP Optimization found.

GBP Tasks gives each listing a few tasks at a time. New ones arrive every few days: the month's regular work first, then fixes from GBP Optimization, then tasks that bring in more reviews and visits. Nothing on this page costs credits.

#Before you begin

#See your tasks

  1. Open GBP Tasks in the menu.
  2. Find the listing. Each card shows To do and Done.
  3. Click the listing's name to open it.

The page opens on the New tab.

  • Beside the title, "New tasks in 4 days" says when the next tasks arrive.
  • Under the tabs, "Try to finish these by" gives the date they arrive.
  • The bar says how many tasks are done, for example "2 of 5 tasks done". It counts the tasks open now and the ones finished or skipped since the last new tasks arrived.
TabWhat it lists
NewTasks still to do.
CompletedTasks that are done, including earlier months' monthly tasks.
SkippedTasks you skipped.

The listing's dashboard lists the tasks in New in its Tasks card, with the same bar. GBP Tasks left on the Overview counts the tasks in New too.

#The tasks

KindTasks
MonthlyPost at least once this month, A new review this month, Add a photo this month and Every review answered.
From GBP OptimizationEach issue the latest audit found, such as a description that is too short. For each social profile that is Active in Listing Management, a task to add it to your Google profile.
GrowthReply to your latest low review, list your business on a directory, check a page that may be yours, put your keywords in your business description, activate your free website, add tracking to your website link, send your review link to a customer, ask five customers for a review, and post an offer.

Each task has one line under its title saying what to do.

#A new listing's first month

In the month you add a listing, the tasks come in this order:

  1. Add a photo with your location, which is the monthly photo task.
  2. Put your keywords in your business description.
  3. Activate your free website.
  4. List your business on directories.
  5. A new review this month, Post at least once this month and Every review answered.

Then come the fixes from GBP Optimization and the rest of the growth tasks. A task that does not apply to your listing is left out and the others move up.

From the first day of the next month, the monthly tasks come first again. Put your keywords in your business description is only part of the first month. If the description still lacks your keywords after that, GBP Optimization lists it as an issue.

#Do a task

  1. Click the task's card, or Open task.
  2. The task opens in a pop-up. Do the work there, or follow its button to the page where it is done.
  3. Click Mark as completed once you have done it. It is the first button at the bottom right of every pop-up, except for a social profile task, which has It's on my profile, a post task showing a draft, which has Mark as posted, and the free website task, which you finish with Open your site.
TaskWhat the pop-up shows
Post at least once this monthThe newest post waiting in Post Drafts, with Copy text, Open Google Business Profile and Mark as posted. With no post waiting, one line saying so, Mark as completed, and Write one now when the agent can write one. If you can only view the listing, the post and Open Google Business Profile alone.
A new review this monthThe Review Poster settings, with the poster beside them (above them on a phone): layout, colours, link, title, description, phrases, footer and size. Then Download poster and, once the poster is saved, Copy link. If you can only view the listing, you see the poster, Download poster and Copy link. With no poster to show, a QR code of your review link and Copy link, and Create your review poster if you can edit the listing.
Add a photo this month, Add a photo with your locationThe photo tagger: which keyword, what the photo shows, the file name, alt text and geotag it will write, and Choose a photo. Then Download tagged photo and Open Google Business Profile to add it. If the listing has no location to tag with, only the line saying so and Open Google Business Profile. If you can only view the listing, Open Google Business Profile alone.
Put your keywords in your business descriptionYour keywords, your description as it reads now, and Open Google Business Profile to change it.
Activate your free websiteThe address your site will have, and Publish, the same button as in the Website Builder. Once the site is live, its address and Open your site: open your site to finish the task, which then reads Done by you. A site you published earlier in the Website Builder shows the same button. If the site is not ready to publish, its address and Open Website Builder, where you finish it. If you can only view the listing, the address and Open Website Builder, or Open your site once it is live.
Every review answeredThe newest 10 reviews waiting for a reply, each with its reply box, where you write or edit the reply and use Draft a reply, Copy reply, Send to Google (once Google is connected) or Mark as replied, and Discard. With more than 10 waiting, Open Review Management shows the rest. If you can only view the listing, you read the reviews and nothing more.
An issue from GBP OptimizationHow to fix it, and Open GBP Optimization, which opens that issue.
Add a social profile to your Google profileOpen Google Business Profile, and It's on my profile to press once the link is on your profile.
Send your review link to a customerThe same poster settings and buttons as the monthly review task. Download poster also marks it done.
Reply to your latest low reviewThat review, with the same reply box as above. If the review has been removed from Google or already has a reply, one line saying so.
List your business on a directoryOpen the directory, and a box for the address of your listing there. Paste it and click Save link: the directory becomes Active in Listing Management and the task moves to Completed. Some directories show only Open. If you can only view the listing, only Open.
Check the page we foundThe page DigitPeak found on that directory and what it shows, with This is mine and Not mine. This is mine makes the directory Active and completes the task. Not mine drops the page and the task leaves. If you can only view the listing, you see the page and nothing to press.
Add tracking to your website linkYour website link with the tracking already added, Copy link, and Open Google Business Profile, where you replace the website link with it. Copy link also marks the task Done by you. If the listing has no website link, one line saying so and Open Google Business Profile. If you can only view the listing, the link and Copy link.
Ask five customers for a reviewA short message with your review link, ready to send, and Copy message, which also marks the task Done by you. The link is your Review Poster's short link once the poster is saved, otherwise Google's review link. If the listing has no review link, one line saying so. If you can only view the listing, the message and Copy message.
Post an offer on your profileThe same as the monthly post task: the newest post waiting, Copy text, Open Google Business Profile and Mark as posted, which also marks the task Done by you.

#How a task gets done

When DigitPeak can see that the work is done, it ticks the task itself and moves it to Completed, often while the pop-up is still open. That covers the monthly tasks, the issues from GBP Optimization, replies to reviews, directories, the keywords in your description and the tracking on your website link.

You can complete any task yourself. Click Mark as completed in the pop-up. The task moves to Completed and reads Done by you. Some pop-ups do this for you when you use them: Download poster on Send your review link to a customer, Download tagged photo, Copy link on the tracking task, Copy message, Mark as posted on the offer task, and Open your site on the free website task. Each marks its task once. If DigitPeak later sees the work done as well, the task stays Done by you. To take it back, open it and click Move back to New.

A social profile task is done when you click It's on my profile, and it also reads Done by you. On a connected listing it is also done once the link is on your Google profile. It has no Mark as completed. It stays in Completed after that. Undo on the social profiles issue in GBP Optimization takes back what you said about the profile there, not the task. If that profile is still not on your Google profile, a new task for it can arrive later. If a profile stops being Active in Listing Management, its task leaves New.

A task DigitPeak ticked stays done. If the same problem comes back later, it arrives as a new task.

#Post at least once this month

A post counts when it is marked as used in DigitPeak, dated by when it was marked. That happens when you:

  • click Copy text on a draft on the Orion AI Agent page or in Post Drafts, or
  • click Mark as posted on a draft in Post Drafts or in the task's pop-up.

In the task's pop-up, Copy text only copies. You paste the post into your Business Profile. A post you write on Google without going through DigitPeak is not counted.

#A new review this month

A review counts when its Google date falls inside the month. Reviews removed from Google are not counted.

Google forbids offering anything in return for a review. Ask customers in person when the work is finished.

Download poster does not tick this task. It is done when a new review appears on Google.

#Add a photo this month

The task is done when the listing's photo count has gone up since the start of the month. It counts the net change: two photos added and two removed reads as no change.

Download tagged photo also marks the task Done by you, once. Add the photo to your profile on Google yourself.

#Every review answered

This task looks at every review DigitPeak holds, of any age. It is done when none of them is waiting for a reply. A reply counts when Google shows it on the review, or once you click Mark as replied on the review, in this pop-up or in Review Management. See AI replies for drafting them.

#Skip a task

  1. Open the task.
  2. Click Skip at the bottom left of the pop-up. On a monthly task it reads Skip this month.

The task moves to the Skipped tab and counts as done in the bar. A skipped task does not come back. A skipped monthly task is skipped for its month only, and next month's task is a new one.

To take a skip back, click Move back to New on the task in the Skipped tab, or in its pop-up.

If a skipped task gets done anyway, it shows in Completed instead of Skipped.

Only Owners and Editors can complete a task or skip it. Each one, and each one taken back, is listed in the project's history.

#When new tasks arrive

Every few days a listing gets a few new tasks. Tasks you have not finished stay in New. When six tasks are in New, no new tasks arrive until you finish or skip some.

When a new month starts, last month's unfinished monthly tasks leave New and the new month's tasks come first. Last month's finished and skipped ones stay in Completed and Skipped, worded "that month".

#Limits

  • You cannot add, remove or edit tasks.
  • The monthly targets are fixed at 1 post, 1 new review, 1 photo and 0 reviews waiting.
